Far from the mainland of Bharat, the outskirts of several dusty towns became the settlements of the Pakistani Hindu refugees, who have left everything behind in their homeland for safety and dignity. For these refugee families Janswabhiman Welfare Society becomes a shield, protecting them in every possible way.
Janswabhiman stepped in with pencils, pens, papers, colours and hope — education once as unattainable as dignity itself.
The children of these Pakistani Hindu refugees arrive with a huge empty space in their hearts and minds, trying to salvage their dignity and hope after relentless mental and physical torture in Islamist Pakistan. These children, if at all they attended school, faced discrimination and segregation, made to do hard physical labor, clean toilets and the entire school, without any provision of basic amenities like drinking water and were constantly abused and ridiculed for their faith by teachers and students alike. These children never held a pencil in their hands, as education was a luxury for them — as unattainable as dignity and respect. But Janswabhiman stepped in — with pencils, pens, papers, colours and hope for these children.

Each day of these children in Janswabhiman's Shiksha centres begins with Gayatri mantra and prayers, followed by Surya Namaskar, Yoga and Pranayam. The day proceeds towards Mathematics, learning languages like Hindi and English, general knowledge, learning lessons in life skills and Dharma along with arts and crafts. The teachers lovingly impart knowledge and discipline, reviving self-confidence of these kids and giving them a sense of safety to such an extent that they bring along their pets to their classes. What was once a community of broken spirits now stands tall with confidence. These children are no longer victims — under the guidance of Janswabhiman Welfare Society, they are emerging as confident Dharmic individuals, working towards a better tomorrow for themselves and Bharat.
