O Agni, protect us from violent beings, deceivers, and those who wish to harm or kill us.
You are the mighty guardian—grant us safety and strength. [Rigveda 1/36/15]
Tribal Welfare – Preserving Identity, Restoring Dignity
Across the remote forested regions and hilly terrains of Gujarat and Maharashtra, several tribal communities—rich in indigenous wisdom and dharmic heritage—have been left behind in the race of development. Deprived of basic amenities and educational opportunities, many tribal families fall prey to social evils like substance abuse, unethical religious conversions, animal trafficking, and organized criminal activities.
To address these deep-rooted challenges, Jan Swabhiman Welfare Society has launched a holistic Tribal Welfare Program, grounded in sewa (selfless service), sanskar (values) and sangathan (community empowerment).
Where We Work
Our field teams operate across key tribal belts:
- Gujarat: Dang, Tapi, Valsad, Navsari
- Maharashtra: Palghar, Nashik
These are regions where our teams live among the people, understand their concerns firsthand, and work shoulder to shoulder to create lasting change.
Our Interventions
Dharma Shiksha: Moral & Cultural Education
Our structured Dharma Shiksha sessions aim to inculcate:
- Respect for elders, teachers, and nature
- Knowledge of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and tribal heroes
- Duties as a proud and responsible Bharatiya citizen
Through storytelling, cultural activities, and hands-on learning, we strengthen character and cultural clarity among children and adolescents.

Youth Fitness and Sports Engagement
To channel the energy of tribal youth away from addiction and idleness, we host:
- Sports tournaments (kabaddi, kho-kho, etc.)
- Village-level fitness centers and physical training camps
These foster confidence, physical resilience, and team spirit—turning youth into protectors of their community rather than victims of crime.
Cultural Rejuvenation & Spiritual Anchoring
To reconnect tribal families with Bharatiya Sanskriti and their rich dharmic roots, we organize:
- Gram-level Yajnas, Bhajan-Keertan Sabhas
- Cultural meets and women's gatherings
- Prasad Vitaran
These events create a sense of unity, pride, and spiritual well-being—strengthening resistance to external influences.
Free Food for Hospital Patients
In government and rural hospitals, tribal families often go hungry while tending to the sick. We provide hot, nutritious meals free of cost to tribal patients and their caregivers, easing their burden during times of stress.
Clothing Distribution for the Needy
Through regular Clothes Seva Drives, our volunteers distribute clean and season-appropriate clothes to poor tribal families—especially during winters, monsoons, and festivals—dignifying daily life.

Join the Movement: Uplift a Tribal Community, Empower a Generation
Our Tribal Welfare Initiative is sustained by the relentless dedication of grassroots volunteers, cultural reformers, compassionate teachers, and committed social workers—working tirelessly in the most remote tribal regions of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
These areas are home to resilient yet vulnerable communities facing daily threats from poverty, addiction, illegal conversions, and lack of access to even the most basic resources.
