Every Gaumata and Gauvansh had a painful backstory, before entering our Gaushala in Noida (UP) — frail from extreme malnutrition and starvation, broken bones and severe injuries from accidents, mishaps and cruel attacks and merciless slaughterhouses. Their eyes carried despair, not anger; exhaustion, not resentment. And after spending some time in the Gaushala, every jeev realises that it is completely safe here, that it will always be well cared for and loved. Every little calf plays around happily while its mother rests peacefully, knowing her child is safe and cared for in the Gaushala.
“यज्ञियाः पशवो गावः।” “Cows are sacred beings meant for a life connected to yajna and purity.” (Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa 3.1.2.21)
As these gentle beings heal from their physical and mental trauma, the Gaushala transforms into a sanctuary of care and compassion for them. Children visit daily, feeding calves, brushing their backs, and learning Sanatani teachings of Jeevdaya and Seva. Families celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and festivals by performing Havan and Pooja and experiencing the adage — Gauseva is equal to Prabhu seva.
““अघ्न्या इति ब्राह्मणाः वदन्ति।” “The learned declare that cows must never be killed.” (Ṛg Veda 8.101.15)”
This principle forms the moral backbone of Janswabhiman Welfare Society’s mission. Through organic farming and sustainable practices, the Gaushala stays self-reliant while protecting hundreds of Gauvansh. Every Gaumata saved is a victory of Sanatan Dharma over Vidharmi cruelty; every jeev healed is a restoration of hope in humanity. Amid the hum of mantras and rustle of fodder, the Gaushala stands as a living reminder that humanity’s truest measure lies in how tenderly it treats those who cannot voice their pain and fears.
