The civilisation of Sanatan Dharma rose on the strength of values that honor life, karuna, Jeevdaya and Seva. Among the most enduring symbols of this ethos is Gaumata, revered not merely as a pashudhan (cattle wealth), but as a living embodiment of motherhood, nourishment and sattvic purity. But in the materialistic world of today, she becomes a victim of cruelty, exploitation and neglect — abandoned in its old age and living off its ‘utility’, injured or viciously attacked, or seized by ruthless slaughter mafia. Standing firmly against this apathy is Janswabhiman Welfare Society, whose Noida Gaushala revives the motherly bond between humans and Gaumata.
“धेनवः सर्वकामधुक्।” “Cows are the fulfillers of all rightful desires.” (Ṛg Veda 1.164.40)
This Rigvedic Richa takes tangible form in our Gaushala — dedicated medical care, nutritious food, safe shelter, and emotional healing extended to more than three hundred rescued cows every month. As a living classroom, children visit the Gaushala, engage in Gauseva, learn about ecological harmony and participate in Havan and Pooja that nurture their samskaras. Families celebrate birthdays and special occasion performing havan, pooja and Gauseva, learning the Sanatani principles of Karuna and Seva.
““न हिंस्यान् सर्वभूतानि।” “Let no living being be harmed.” (Manusmriti 5.43)”
This command, central to Dharmic ethics, guides every action of Janswabhiman Welfare Society. The Gaushala sustains itself through organic farming and eco-friendly practices. Here, Gaumata walks freely, calmed by trust, protected by dharmic values, and loved by our Gausevaks. In her serenity, society is reminded that when we protect the voiceless gentle, we recover the gentleness within ourselves.
